SAN FRANCISCO - The sale revenue to save the server chip Intel Corp. in the fourth quarter of 2010. Intel reported revenue increased 48 percent, where the majority of customers come from the company.
The main reason for Intel's profit was significantly increased sales of server chips, which reap more benefits than chips for PCs. PC industry as a whole is going through a crisis, following the emergence of a variety of computer devices are far more flexible and concise.
In the fourth quarter, operating profit of Intel, the special division that produces chips for servers, reached USD1, 43 billion. In other words, this division has increased profit by 47 percent over a year.
Although profits for the division that manufactures PC larger, approximately $ 3, 62 billion, but its growth rate is smaller because it only reached 8 percent over the past year.
Intel reported in yesterday's trading, closed at their net income figure $ 3, 39 billion, or 59 cents per share, during the last three months of 2010. This figure exceeds the previous estimate of market analysts, in which one share of Intel valued 53 cents, so as disitat AP on Friday (14/01/2011).
Meanwhile, Intel's total revenue rose 8 percent, from $ 10, 6 billion to USD11, 5 billion. Though analysts predict only USD11, 4 billion. No doubt CEO Paul Otellini said Intel's 2010 as the best year. He was optimistic that Intel will record better results in 2011.
