LAS VEGAS - Intel certainly will bring a new processor named Sandy Bridge at CES 2011, next week. In addition to eliminating the ability of graphics cards, there are other interesting features in this processor.
The hardware giant has confirmed that Sandy Bridge has an integrated content protection features designed to thwart piracy of high-end digital quality.
According to Intel VP Mooly Eden, a virtual lockdown would allow Hollywood studios to transfer film1080p safely with computers that are supported by this new chip.
"We have been able to develop solutions to end-to-end which would have permit any premium content to be streamed to computers Sandy Bridge," said Eden, as reported by Reuters on Tuesday (04/01/2011).
Not surprisingly, Thomas Gewecke, president of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, has supported this antipembajakan technology. In fact he mentioned the exact chip giant nicknamed "Intel Insider."
"Intel's new technology is a fundamental change for us," said Gewecke. "This is because the chip to create a fundamentally more secure platform in the PC environment," he added.
Some observers predict the Sandy Bridge processor will donate 20 percent of Intel's desktop line in the first quarter of 2011.
Just to remind, Sandy Bridge will bring graphic components into the processor itself, so the cache to be shared with the core for better video performance.
Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) will speed up the tasks of media and uses 256-bit base designed to target for tasks such as editing media.
