SEOUL - Korean electronics manufacturer, LG, again presents the newest innovation in the technology of three dimensional (3D). This time a 3D view on the phone that without special glasses.
Launched by Cellular News, Thursday (01/06/2011), LG Electronics showcased a 3D screen destined for mobile phones. The screen measuring 4.3 inches with a resolution of approximately 480x800 pixels. Three-dimensional images presented on screen is claimed to be seen well without 3D glasses.
For LG, as said President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications, Park Jong-seok, the use of 3D glasses are considered to be outdated. LG 3D Display uses a parallax barrier technology, which is able to deliver a series of slit light blocking attached to the front of the LCD panel.
The cracks, or barrier, contained in this technology, ensuring the left eye saw a different picture from the right eye. This will create a convincing illusion of depth and 3D effect.
"LG to see tremendous growth potential in the market for 3D mobile phone screen. With our deep understanding of the displays, entertainment and mobile technology, LG will become the first company to bring a new way to watch movies or play 3D games on mobile phones," said Park.
With the 3D display, LG unsure, phone the release of not only display the images a smoother and clearer, but also a wider viewing angle than conventional displays that had been on the phone.
