BERLIN - A German firm plans to launch software that allows users to delete the photos already uploaded on account FaceBook, MySpace and Flickr.
The software would be useful for users who have difficulty to remove the photo, which has been uploaded on the internet. Similarly, as quoted from Terra.net, Friday (01/14/2011).
"Before users post photos, they will upload them into a program that provides a password valid for a limited time," said Michael Backes, founder of the X-Pire, the creator of the website whose name is yet to be announced.
If users want to see the picture some time later, the server will check whether the time the image is already expired and block them when the time is already gone.
"The previous Internet users already have the control to remove the photos from social networking sites like Facebook, but experience shows that they are not quite satisfied akannya," said Backes.
"Most users of Facebook, for example, is a passive user. They surf over there and put a lot of personal information. And if they forget their passwords, they will not get back the info-info," Backes added.
"Software is not for people who understand how to protect their data on the internet, but more for the many people who want to solve the problem thoroughly," said Backes.
According to Backes, software will be available within the next few days, and will cost 2 Euros or $ 2, 61 per month.
However, the software can not protect users from third-party developers who download and store their photos.
"When people upload photos on the internet, so they can be seen. The software is not protecting us all," said Backes.
